The Calvary Hospital has enjoyed “freedom of conscience” because it operates as a Catholic hospital but is now at risk as it can no longer operate according to that freedom, says Australian Christian Lobby CEO Michelle Pearse.
“This could affect other Christian and Catholic institutions nationwide,” Ms Pearse told Sky News host Amanda Stoker.
“This is an ideological abuse on freedom of conscience, but the ACT government is yet to admit this; the Supreme Court hasn’t seen this either. “We need to continue to push the federal parliament to acknowledge that this was an ideological issue so the ACT government can inquire into this and we can see this injustice rectified.
