In a bid to reduce the lingering meter issuing process in Osun State, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has launched its 24-hour ‘Mobile Map’
The innovation, according to IBEDC, would end the process of metering for social and economic growth.
The Senior Communication Officer, IBEDC Osun Region, Kikelomo Owoeye, explained that the 24-hour ‘Mobile Map’ would put an end to reports of customers ending up in the hands of fraudulent persons in the process of getting meters. The electricity distribution company moved around major parts of Ile-Ife metropolis, including Lagere, Sabo, Fajuyi, Moore, Enuwa, Ondo Road, Mayfair, Eleyele, Parakin and Modakeke.
Owoeye urged customers with black meters to approach any IBEDC office in Ile-Ife to apply for their prepaid meter with their bills and identity cards. “One of the staff would follow the customer to their house for evaluation after a certain amount might have been paid to us.” According to her, after the technical evaluation is ascertained, within 24 hours, the meter would be connected.
