I tried Amani Spa's hot stone therapy and oxygen capsule in Singapore: 'Unique focus on wellness' Located on Killiney Road, the Japanese Spa aims to be a modern oasis for city dwellers suffering from urban fatigue. Here’s my honest review:
I met with their in-house manager who ran the treatment process with me. Then I was ushered to my treatment room, where I changed out to their cuteTo begin, I was ushered to a heated room where I'd experience the Ganban-yoku Hot Stone Therapy. Basically, the flooring of an extended platform and the walls are made from a special volcanic stone.
The therapy is said to balance the body with ultra-red raysand negative ions from the hot stones to heal, soothe and stimulate one’s metabolism. The heat helps to increase blood circulation while reducing joint pains and removing toxins from one's body. I felt 'light' and clean after the 30-minute therapy, especially after a quick rinse to remove the excess sweat from my skin before my massage treatment.
Next, I started with the Amani Signature Treatment which lasted about an hour. The masseuse made sure she targeted knots in my lower back and legs, a sign that I'd been sitting in front of my computer for way too long. Using the Amani oil, the masseuse applied enough pressure to rub onto key muscles and improve blood circulation. Suitable for couples, the treatment can be held concurrently in a spacious room for two.
Lastly, I was due for the Oxygen Capsule treatment. Because it is quite a popular treatment, I had to wait for a client's turn to be over before mine. Wearing the same robe I was in earlier before, I slip into a 'shuttle-like' ship to lie back in a pressurised oxygen environment. The treatment is said to deliver oxygen molecules to body areas that lack oxygen, rejuvenating the body for better sleep, and encouraging better recovery from fatigue, injury, and muscle aches.
