Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has declared she never takes any election for granted as she prepares to face her first major leadership test.
Almost 50,000 people in the Mulgrave electorate in Melbourne's south-east will next month vote for a state representative for the second time in a year.
Labor has endorsed Eden Foster, who has been Mayor of Greater Dandenong City Council since November last year, as its Mulgrave by-election candidate. Labor holds Mulgrave on a 10.8 per cent margin, after Mr Andrews suffered a 4.9 per cent swing against him at last November's state election. "She's very well connected to her local community, she brings great passion and experience to the potential role of being a member of parliament and I look forward to joining her on the campaign in the weeks ahead."
