Gold Coast has confirmed Richmond premiership coach Damien Hardwick as their new coach. He’s been given a six-year contract at the expansion club.
Richmond premiership coach Damien Hardwick has been confirmed as the next coach of the Gold Coast Suns, with the club saying he is “hungrier than ever” for the challenge that awaits him on a six-year contract.when he said he needed a break.In a statement released by the Suns, Hardwick declared his hunger for the job.
“The foundations are in place for us to build this club into a contender for years to come and this is a challenge I am extremely excited to take on.” Hardwick will be among the higher-paid coaches in the competition, but he is conscious of leaving enough resources to invest in the Suns’ football program, as he was at Richmond, where he was never the highest-paid coach in the league despite being a three-time premiership coach.
