It's too early to know if criminality played a factor.
Surrey RCMP responded to a call on Wednesday, Feb. 15, around 12:40 p.m. of what appear to be human remains found in an empty lot in the 19000-block of Fraser Highway.
Police have secured the scene and alerted the Integrated Forensic Identification Team and the BC Coroner Service. RCMP say they are working to identify the deceased and will be liaising with the Coroner to determine the cause of death. They advise that it is too early in the investigation to determine whether criminality was a factor.
