A western Sydney man was caught with a large amount of cash on hand along with a prohibited drug while driving along a major highway on Monday.
A man, 33, was charged for having more than $100,000 cash in his possession, after he was pulled over by Traffic North West officers in Goulburn.
He was driving a black van on the Hume Highway, when he was stopped by patrol officers at about 4.50pm for his alleged reckless behaviour behind the wheel. Picture NCA Newswire/ Gaye Gerard During a following search of the vehicle, police found $105,900 in cash, along with some amount of methylamphetamine.Authorities then charged the man with five separate offences.
These include; driving etc when visiting privileges withdrawn, recklessly deal proceeds of general crime $100,000 or more, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen , possess prohibited drug, and detention application – arrest.He has been refused bail and will appear in Goulburn Local Court on Tuesday April 18.
