Vanessa Hudson faces a daunting task of repairing the national carrier’s battered reputation and overseeing the financing of $15 billion in new planes after Alan Joyce abruptly quit as the chief executive of Qantas two months before originally planned.
On Tuesday, Institutional Shareholder Services head of researcher Vas Kolesnikoff said the board should withhold the issuing of Mr Joyce’s bonus shares until the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission concludes its investigation into alleged deceptive and misleading conduct. Mr Joyce is owed as part of long-term incentive plans that vest this year, 2024 and 2025 are withheld“Details of executive remuneration will come out when the annual report published later this month,” a Qantas spokesman said.
