Americans love track and field every four years, but let me say politely that NBC’s commentators, other than their No. 1 track commentator, Ato Boldon, have displayed surprisingly little knowledge of the sport. It’s as if they hired ex-athletes who might know about their individual event but nothing about other events.Most concerning is a failure to adjust when news happens.
