BOSS Young Executive and head of emerging technology at Commonwealth bank Jesse Arundel discusses how he helps himself to change his own behaviour.

My iPad. I take it with me everywhere. I usually upgrade it about every two years and I always have it as my second screen.

I used to go afterwards. It was a nice way to decompress after the day, but I’ve started going in the morning, and I am much sharper and have more energy [for the rest of the day]. I did a lot more reading. I reckon I read upwards of 30 books. They were non-fiction and I really enjoyed it. You’ve just got to have an intent and a focus. And then just think about the set-up, and how you can make it easier to do the behaviour that you want. Or if it’s a behaviour that you’re trying to drive out, [it’s about] how you make it harder for yourself. Why don’t you use other tools like Facebook or Instagram?Because a lot of them are time sinks. You can spend so much time looking at what everybody else is doing. I’d rather have that time focused on living my life.
