The trio of murderers had carefully rigged their rural property and created suspected 'kill zones' to prepare for an ambush, with detectives investigating whether Nathaniel, Gareth and Stacey Train had attempted to trap four unsuspecting officers.
The remote property where a trio of cop killers were living had been likely rigged for an ambush before they gunned down two young officers and a Good Samaritan neighbour.had booby-trapped the driveway leading up to the property, which is located in the small town of Wieambilla, about 300 kilometres north-west of Brisbane.
One of the Trains was also wearing a ghillie suit - a head-to-toe camouflaged outfit designed to blend in to bushland - used in the military as a way to pounce on enemies. Unbeknownst to them, the Train trio were lying in wait, armed with what is believed to be a shotgun, a .22LR and a 30-60 rifle, according to Daily Mail Australia.
Meanwhile, Randall suffered a gunshot wound to the leg as he ran for his life back to the police vehicle while the trio shot at his car. Constable Keely Brough, 28, ran for her life and hid in nearby bushes on the property as the heavily armed trio tried to hunt her down.
