Sky News Australia's Wine and Travel Editor Des Houghton says passengers onboard Emirates Airline have quaffed $1 billion worth of champagne in the last 16 years.
Emirates keeps its own cellar in France with 6.5 million bottles.
Emirates treasures its links to Dom Pérignon and is the venerable champagne House regards the airline as its number one global wine partner. This year Qatar says it will be offering Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve Champagne NV and Taittinger Prestige Rosé Brut in business class. Sajda Ismail, British Airways’ director of onboard experience, said food and beverage was one of the three main drivers of customer satisfaction surveys.
