Billions of people around the world have welcomed in 2023, watching spectacular firework displays and light shows on some of the world’s most recognised landmarks.

In Thailand a dazzling fireworks display lit up the sky to the delight of partygoers over the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. In Taiwan thousands gathered to watch more than 16,000 fireworks be set off from Taipei 101, the nation’s tallest skyscraper.
