The House of Representatives is optimistic about the approval of a bill implementing a new round of salary hikes for government workers
The House Committee on Appropriations approved on Monday morning House Bill 5712, an Act modifying the salary schedule for civilian government personnel and authorizing the grant of additional benefits, and for other purposes.
Ungab expressed hope that President Rodrigo Duterte will certify the bill as urgent so that the lower chamber can approve the measure as quickly as possible before it can be implemented in 2020. Under HB 5712, the implementation of the four tranches will begin annually every first of January starting 2020 until 2023.
