This year’s theme is “Canada: Powered by Tourism” in an attempt to show the weight the industry carries in Canada’s economy and the power of collaboration.
Over 20,000 jobs—around 9.4 per cent—are related to the tourism industry in this province, which Hospitality NL says is as much as in aquaculture, the fishery, forestry and agriculture combined. In connection with the week, which ends April 30, the organization is releasing a social media campaign highlighting local operators as well as having Cabot Tower lit up in green.Over 20,000 people are working in Newfoundland & Labrador's tourism industry, so don't let us tell you.
