Last week, the Sarawak government said it will not adopt Putrajaya’s new guidelines for foreign artistes.

“If permits cannot be obtained in Peninsular Malaysia, come to Miri. As mayor of Miri city, I will fully support and assist in ensuring the smooth organising of concerts. He believed that concert-goers would also take the opportunity to travel to other parts of the state when they come for the concert.

He added that two artistes who took part in last year’s Rainforest World Music Festival in Sarawak would not have been allowed to perform in other states because of their attire and performance.
