Hockey Canada has been under intense scrutiny after TSN reported in the spring that a woman had filed a $3.55-million lawsuit alleging she had been sexually assaulted by multiple members of Canada’s 2018 World Junior Team.That lawsuit was settled a few weeks later through a Hockey Canada fund built through player registration fees called the National Equity Fund, the Globe and Mail reported this summer.
She also said the board disagreed there needed to be changes to senior executives, namely President Scott Smith, because it was “in the best interest” of the organization and its participants that leadership “remain stable.”Article content Skinner repeatedly accused media of inaccurately reporting on Hockey Canada, saying that it is was the victim of “substantial misinformation and unduly cynical attacks.”Article content
