Two serious crashes involving six people occurred within 10 minutes of the other in a horrific Wednesday morning on Queensland’s roads. Both crashes saw drivers trapped in their cars, with paramedics calling for help from rescue helicopters. One person was seriously injured when a car collided with a truck near the Sunshine Coast . Paramedics were called to the crash on the D’Aguilar Hwy, Winya, at 5.53am on Wednesday, where they found one person trapped in the car.
A rescue helicopter was called in and the person was rescued from the wreckage and treated for significant arm and leg injuries. Two other patients were assessed as being in stable conditions. Parts of the D’Aguilar Highway remain closed in both directs. In a separate incident at Chinchilla at 5.45am, another person was reported as being trapped in a car that careened into a tree on Green Swamp Rd.
