The federal budget is forecasting a large population increase which will put pressure on prices, energy and housing but REA Group Economic Research Executive Manager Cameron Kusher says it’s already begun.

“We’re already seeing the impact of the high rate of migration and the falling rate of construction impacting the market,” Mr Kusher told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.

“It’s mainly showing up at the moment in the rental market, we’ve got nowhere near enough supply of rental stock and we’ve got way too much demand and that’s putting pressure on rental prices.”
