Canadians will observe its second annual Truth and Reconciliation day, a federal statutory holiday to honour the Indigenous lives lost and forever changed by the church-run, state funded residential schools. Here’s what’s open and closed:

Schools will operate on a normal schedule on Friday.locations will also be open for standard business hours. Resources on residential schools and Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day will be provided acrossEaton Centre, Yorkdale and Dufferin Mall will be open for regular hours, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sherway Gardens will also be open as usual from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.Major retailers like Walmart, Metro and No Frills will operate on regular business hours.

across Ontario will be closed for the morning and reopening at noon in acknowledgment of Truth and Reconciliation Day.
