The Jays will be playing the Seattle Mariners at 4:07 p.m. in the first game of the American League best-of-three wild-card round, the team’s broadcast partner Sportsnet reported Wednesday.
This is the second time in three seasons the Jays have made the wild card with the team’s last appearance in the pandemic-shortened 2020 where they got swept by the Tampa Bay Rays.
The last time the Blue Jays made it through to the post-season proper was during the 2016 season. Led by the likes of Jose Bautista, Josh Donaldson and Edwin Encarnacion, the Jays made it to the AL Championship Series for the second season in a row.
