Public plazas, a bike lane, and the children's library are some of the projects Vancouver might use the money on.
The report went before a standing committee on July 26, and these six projects for Vancouver were approved:A temporary public plaza at Cambie and 17th Avenue in VancouverDuring the pandemic, the city created 22 pop-up plazas, which have been popular with residents.Now staff is recommending $10 million be spent to convert three existing temporary plazas to permanent ones.
Staff will also report back with recommendations for allocation of the remaining $23.6 million of the Growing Communities Fund as soon as possible and no later than the 2023-2026 Capital Plan mid-term update scheduled for mid-2024.Article contentA section of the Beatty Street bike lane between Georgia and Robson Streets.
