"I extend my warmest greetings to the men and women of the Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation as you convene to celebrate decades of remarkable public service as heralds of truth," he said in his message. President Marcos commended the publication’s efforts in delivering reliable information despite the challenges posed by the rapidly evolving technological landscape. "In recent years, the mission to validate, gather, and deliver information effectively in an ever-evolving technological landscape has become more challenging and essential," he said. "On your 125th Anniversary, I trust that you will continue to produce accurate news articles and publications that our people need and deserve," he added. Marcos underscored the crucial role of journalism in raising public awareness, promoting accountability, and contributing to good governance. He expressed confidence that the Manila Bulletin would continue its legacy of producing accurate news that the public both needs and deserves. "By raising public awareness and advocating for accountability, you elevate the quality of governance and, in turn, enhance the lives of our citizens," he said. "May you continue to explore and create innovative solutions to combat misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation. By working together, we can achieve a fair, transparent, and progressive Bagong Pilipinas for all," he added. The Manila Bulletin, one of the oldest newspapers in the Philippines, was founded as a shipping journal on Feb. 2, 1900, before evolving into a widely respected national broadsheet.
