Worthy program

The Children’s Foundation launched a new program called Keep Baby Safe, sponsored by the John M. and Bernice Parrott Foundation and Kiwanis Club of Belleville. This program supplies cribs and car seats for families with low income needing help.

Growing inflation, skyrocketing grocery prices, a looming recession, and the housing crisis are all causing incredible strain on families. The cost of a crib or a car seat can be prohibitive and sometimes results in an infant’s safety being compromised. Keep Baby Safe is an expanded version of the former TCF program called Sleep Baby Safe which was run internally by Highland Shores Children’s Aid. Now, Keep Baby Safe is available for anyone in the community with low income to access.

“The Children’s Foundation believes that finances should never determine the safety of an infant”, says Melanie Cressman, Executive Director.
