Following a disappointing Escalation of Freedom update earlier this month, Helldivers 2 has now dropped to its lowest player count ever.
Helldivers 2 may have seen one of the biggest falls from grace as millions of players have abandoned the game due to reactionary updates and failure to address major issues that are plaguing the game. Many games see their shares of good and bad times, with Palworld being another example that has gone from over two million concurrent players to just 30,000. The difference is that Palworld declined due to no new content, which is understandable and frequently seen.
But, with issues such as weapon nerfs and performance issues still being present, it seems that more players are giving up and moving on, despite the commitment of a 60-day roadmap to improve the game. Despite the low player count, it is unlikely that Arrowhead Game Studios is too worried, as many live-service games go through ups and downs as players move on to experience other games on the market or focus on life outside of gaming.
