Rainfall ranging from 50 to 100 millimeters is expected over Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro, PAGASA said in its 5am weather advisory. At this rate, “flooding is possible in urbanized and low-lying areas, as well as areas near rivers,” PAGASA weather specialist Veronica C. Torres said during a 5am press briefing in Filipino. The same rainfall intensity and hazards are expected in more areas on Wednesday, including Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Pangasinan, Tarlac, and Pampanga.
On Thursday, the affected areas are expected to include La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, and Pampanga. As for the latest updates on Typhoon Jangmi, formerly known locally as Domeng, which caused flooding incidents in parts of Mindanao, it already exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday noon. The typhoon no longer has any direct effect on the country and is no longer being monitored by PAGASA, according to its latest advisory. —
