NSW Health has issued a warning over the risks of MDMA use after an influx of patients were hospitalised following a music festival in Sydney on Saturday.
On Friday, NSW Health revealed a panel of toxicology experts has determined MDMA as the cause of toxicity in these patients.
“The high temperatures are also likely to have contributed to the high numbers of critically unwell patients at last weekend’s music festival,” he said. At least 12 others suffering drug-related symptoms were taken to hospital by paramedics with seven of those intubated.
