Routine trapping turns up a mosquito that is positive for West Nile Virus – first time in the past five years in local health jurisdiction
Public Health Sudbury and District said it routinely traps mosquitoes across the region to determine whether there are any tiny bugs infected with the disease.
It has been five years, 2018, since the last positive mosquitoes were detected within the Sudbury health jurisdiction, said the release. “Therefore, taking precautions to avoid becoming infected with West Nile virus is important,” added Hawkins.
