KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 ― The high cost is a challenge for the Health Ministry to implement the Electronic Medical Record system in hospitals nationwide, the Parliament was told today.

“The existing equipment is also old, so we need to upgrade them, either by repairing or replacing them with new ones. This also contributes to the high budget requirement, in addition to the cost of the system itself. She was responding to a supplementary question from Tan Hong Pin who wanted to know when the EMR system can be fully integrated and the constraints faced by the ministry in implementing it.
