Health Canada recalled a brand of wontons on Tuesday over egg as an ingredient that’s undeclared on the labels.
The health agency said certain Wonton King products did not list the common allergen and advises Canadians to not consume the following products if you are allergic or sensitive to eggs: both the 200-piece and 300-gram packages of Wontons Chicken & Vegetable as well as both the 200-piece and 300-gram packages of Wontons Pork & Vegetable.
“The recalled products have been sold in Alberta and may have been distributed in other provinces and territories,”“There have been no reported reactions associated with the consumption of these products,” according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency . The agency further advised affected Canadians to either throw out or return the products to the locations from which they were purchased.According to the CFIA,along with peanuts, tree nuts, sesame seeds, shellfish, milk, fish, soy and wheat, among others. When someone consumes or comes into contact with a food allergen, it says symptoms of an allergic reaction “may develop quickly and rapidly progress from mild to severe.
The most severe allergic reaction is anaphylaxis.
