• West Hants council was considering permitting a mobile home development off Underwood Road in Garlands Crossing. Council was advised by Nova Scotia’s Department of Transportation that the road could accommodate the increase in traffic. • Windsor’s public works crews were going flat out over the holidays, responding to 15 water main breaks in nine days, with no end in sight. It was thought the breaks were being caused by the frigid temperatures combined with the 100-year-old pipes.
