Heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat” submerged some of the streets of Metro Manila on Friday.
The Mandaluyong City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office posted on its Twitter page the list of flooded streets in the city.
As of 1 p.m. Friday, knee-deep water level was observed along F. Ortigas and Boni Avenue in Barangay New Zaniga, as well as on Fabella Road in Barangay Addition Hills. Meanwhile, Leyva Street, Lerma Street, J. Dela Cruz Street, J. Vicencio Street in Barangay Old Zaniga were submerged under half feet of water.
The local governments of the Cities of Mandaluyong, Pasig, San Juan and Marikina have already suspended the afternoon classes in all levels, both in public and private, today due to the bad weather. On the other hand, Marikina City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office chief Dave David told the Manila Bulletin that the Marikina River was still at its normal level.As of 1 p.m., water level in Marikina River was at 13.5 meters, David added.Related Posts
