OK, so I’m being facetious. Probably what happened was the Americans noticed something they couldn’t identify on their air defence radar – something drifting into air traffic lanes used by passenger flights.Article contentHaving had their own embarrassment with a Chinese spy balloon they were very slow to shoot down two weeks ago, the Americans have since been blasting anything that floats overhead.
Let Trudeau tweet all he wants about what a tough guy he is. These were American jets and American pilots from an American base blasting a presumed threat out of the sky over Canada. There is nothing second-rate about our military personnel. What is lacking in Ottawa is the will to properly equip a modern armed forces to protect our supposedly autonomous nation.We subcontract our national defence to the Americans. Not just the downing of errant cylinders over the far north, but the whole package.Under the Liberals, we don’t maintain our tanks, for instance.
