For the last two months, Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem has been making speeches in which he has been telling business audiences that inflation is a homegrown problem. The causes are not international.Article content Besides, at least two-thirds of our current inflation of nearly 7% gets back to the Trudeau government’s spending and the Bank of Canada’s mismanagement of the money supply.
