It is outrageous, absolutely and utterly outrageous that PSAC workers are still being paid by the federal government while they are on strike.

Were the terminals run by private companies, the loss of income from lower volumes might spark them to up their offer to grain handlers. According to an internal PSAC message to members on April 16, obtained by CTV News, PSAC told its members, “Interruptions in pay would be unlikely, although it is possible. If we take strike action, past practice shows that the employer would likely recover wages paid during the strike after a settlement is reached.”
