From sunlornegunter: Social giant’s ‘government’ label for CBC has Trudeau all a-twitter cdnpoli
Ah, now I see his point. The Trudeau government doesn’t have to interfere with the CBC to get the editorial content it wants. The CBC knows what to do without being told.
This week, for instance, the CBC’s French arm, Radio-Canada, was first to report the Trudeau family’s vacation in Jamaica at New Year’s occurred at a private estate owned by a long-time personal friend of the PM’s.Article content The CBC made as much fun as any outlet of Trudeau’s farcical, 2018 costume-party trip to India. And they didn’t shy away from reporting on Trudeau’s surfing holiday in Tofino, B.C. on the first National Truth and Reconciliation Day in 2021.Article content
You can see Mar’s point, though. It’s unfair to give CBC a label that implies the broadcaster takes marching order from the PMO or Liberal campaign HQ, when in truth the CBC enthusiastically falls in line entirely voluntarily.
