Nonetheless, Smith, with or without her sovereignty act, is the best champion Albertans have at the moment to stand up to the federal Liberals and the Alberta “progressives” who would raise taxes, ban guns, cripple the energy sector, block pipelines, limit the use of farm fertilizers, censor the internet, increase spending and continue to impose pandemic mandates, even though more information comes out all the time showing that while vaccines worked, so did natural immunity.
I may wish our province had a more nuanced, less clumsy champion than Smith, but is there anyone else who will better resist the encroachment on our economy, our provincial autonomy and the Alberta way of life?Article content The Liberals voted to “require that travellers on interprovincial trains, commercial flights, cruise ships, and other federally regulated vessels be vaccinated.” Federal civil servants would continue to lose their jobs unless they got the shots and the Trudeau government would pressure employers in federally regulated private industries to impose vaccine mandates.
The progressives’ blind faith in vaccine mandates is nearly as extreme a position, in the opposition direction, as anti-vaccination.
