What should work in Brentford’s favour is the knowledge that the Gunners can be beaten – struggling Everton proved it last weekend. The Spaniard will almost surely look to the likes of his skipper Martin Ødegaard, defender Ben White, winger Bukayo Saka and striker Gabriel Martinelli, all of whom, among others, served the club admirably in their sustained challenge for the title.
Toney, in particular, could be crucial to the Bees’ chances of leaving the Emirates with something to show for in this London derby. He is in the league’s top three goal scorers so far this season and could well unsettle the Gunners today.
