GEORGE TOWN: There is a need for guidelines to protect the welfare of gig workers in the country as they are not receiving sufficient protection currently, says V. Sivakumar.

"We need guidelines to ensure their social security and future is protected," the Human Resources Minister told reporters Thursday .

Earlier, he opened the northern region National Human Capital Conference & Exhibition at Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Bayan Lepas. "To stand out from our regional peers and appeal to global players, we must continuously enhance our business environment.
