Amanda Lacaze says she will no longer wait for government support and will present an accelerated growth plan to investors within months.

Lynas boss Amanda Lacaze says her strategy to increase rare earths output by 50 per cent by 2025 is no longer sufficient amid booming demand and her company will no longer wait for governments before investing in new processing infrastructure.

“Generally speaking the process of dealing with government is very frustrating, whether it is in Europe, the US or Australia, government timelines and timetables are different so we don’t try to forecast when governments will get across the line,” she said. Aluminium giant Alcoa warned last week that war in Ukraine and soaring prices for raw materials were starting to destroy demand in the car manufacturing industry, but Ms Lacaze said that would not tempt her to slow growth studies.required more rare earths than traditional cars with internal combustion engines so demand for rare earths could theoretically rise even if car demand slowed.
