A group of 12 electricians from across the GTA claimed a $1 million prize on Monday after picking all the right numbers on OLG’s Encore game.
According to a statement by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, the group matched the seven numbers of the game in the correct order on the Dec. 17 LOTTO 6/49 draw.
The players had been pooling together to try to win a lottery prize for eight months, and plan on using the money for travelling, investing and paying bills. “I checked the ticket on the OLG App and when I saw the $1 million prize amount, I was so excited, I couldn’t believe it,” said Etobicoke resident Tomasz Polanowski in the statement.Encore is a daily draw that can be played with most lottery games for an additional $1. There are 22 ways to win, and prizes range from $1-2 million.
