The United States Trade Representative has kept Greenhills Shopping Center , a popular mall in Metro Manila, on its watchlist for markets tagged for counterfeiting and piracy.In its 2024 Review of Notorious Markets for Counterfeiting and Piracy, the USTR listed Greenhills Shopping Center in San Juan City as among the physical markets that "continue to enable substantial trade in counterfeit and pirated goods.
"Right holders have welcomed the opportunity to collaborate with government authorities and Greenhills Shopping Center management to remove counterfeit sellers," the US agency said.However, the USTR said the mall remains popular on social media as a destination for buying fake goods and that right holders are reporting high volumes of counterfeit items in "secret storerooms.
