Dennis Trillo won the Best Actor award for his role in ' Green Bones ' while Judy Ann Santos received the Best Actress trophy for her performance in the horror drama 'Espantaho.' The prison drama ' Green Bones ' was the big winner at the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival ( MMFF ), taking home the coveted Best Picture award. The victory marked a consecutive triumph for GMA Films, which also won Best Picture last year with its entry, 'Firefly.
' The film also won Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Child Performer. 'Green Bones' director Zig Dulay, however, lost in the Best Director race to 'The Kingdom' director Michael Tuviera and 'My Future You' director Crisanto Aquino. Judy Ann Santos' major movie comeback was highlighted by her winning the Best Actress trophy for the horror drama 'Espantaho.' This is her second Best Actress award after winning in 2019 for 'Mindanao.' Apart from 'Green Bones', 'The Kingdom' also earned multiple awards including the Gatpuno Antonio J. Villegas Memorial Award, Best Visual Effects, Best Production Design, and Second Best Picture
