Aside from giving hope, the Metro Manila Film Festival Best Picture ' Green Bones ' will also act as a 'tester' for some viewers on whether their tears are shallow or deep after watching it. Some viewers seemed to undergo a transformation before and after seeing the film. In a Chika Minute report on GMA News Weekend last Sunday, a video showed some viewers smiling and happy before watching the film.
But at the end, they were seen crying and clutching their chests, perhaps due to the weight of the scenes. Even GMA News showbiz reporter/host Nelson Canlas was not spared from crying after watching 'Green Bones.' 'There is something that will tug at your heartstrings and then it will make you cry because of that,' said Nelson about his experience watching the film. Even the film's leads, Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid, were moved to tears after the movie, as were other celebrities. Dennis was awarded Best Actor at the MMFF 2024 Gabi ng Parangal, while Ruru won Best Supporting Actor. Sienna Stevens also received the Best Child Performer trophy for her performance in the film.
