Greater Sudbury firefighters have partnered with PetSave Sudbury to help find forever homes for pets up for adoption
Furry visitors have begun stopping by Greater Sudbury Fire Services headquarters to pose for photos to help promote their adoption.
This month, firefighters welcomed their first visitor, Diamond, a one-year-old spayed rottweiler mix. “She loves every dog she’s ever met and is good with cats,” Sudbury Professional Fire Fighters reported on social media. “She is great with children but will lick faces. Loves people but is shy of new men. Takes a little time and a few treats to come around.”“A lot of our members are proud dog/cat owners and we recognize the need to find them good homes,” they wrote back in response. “We have a very soft spot in our hearts for pets.
The partnership is with PetSave Sudbury, with firefighters featuring one visitor at the station on their social media page per month. Meanwhile, firefighters plan on releasing their 2024 calendar later this year, to raise money for Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer, are planning their Fill the Boot drive for Muscular Dystrophy Canada in September , and are planning a Movember campaign in November.
