Great Eastern Takaful Berhad ( GETB ) is optimistic about the prospects of customer growth or certificate holders this year, taking into account the challenging market conditions . Its Chief Executive Officer, Shahrul Azlan Shahriman, said that the company, which currently has over 1.8 million takaful protection certificate holders , has seen high growth and awareness in the importance of protection, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic.

He added that the current takaful penetration rate of only about 20 percent provides more opportunities and room for growth in the market. "Therefore, we are very optimistic despite facing challenges and current socio-economic situations. I see many opportunities among those who still do not have protection plans.
