The Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie is coming back on Sunday, Sept. 10, after a three-year hiatus. MARC D'ENTREMONT PHOTOCLARE, NS – Registration has opened for the sixth edition of Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie, which will be held Sunday, Sept. 10, after a three-year hiatus.

In 2019, the last time the event was held, it had hosted 992 cyclist. Some cyclists came from as far away as Alaska and Australia. Experienced riders will be challenged by the slightly modified 128-km Gran route, which has added the scenic Bas-de-la-Rivière coastal loop.E-bikes are also permitted to ride in the 67 km and 35 km rides.“The community spirit is off the charts,” the media release reads. “Hundreds of local residents roll out the welcome mat and enthusiastically cheer cyclists on from the roadside, waving Acadian flags and banging pots and pans.
