The Government of the Philippines ( GPH ) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front ( MILF ) Peace Implementing Panels reaffirmed their commitment to fulfilling all the obligations outlined in the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) during a joint meeting held on January 31st. The panels, in a shared statement, pledged to implement initiatives aimed at advancing, sustaining, and safeguarding the peace achieved in the Bangsamoro region.
Expressing their gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for his administration's continuous dedication to the Bangsamoro peace process, the GPH-MILF panels also acknowledged the pivotal role played by Presidential Peace Adviser Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity in ensuring the successful execution of the CAB. The statement further commended the various joint GPH-MILF peace mechanisms for their invaluable contributions to the ongoing peace process.The leadership of the MILF, under the guidance of Chairman and Bangsamoro Government Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, was lauded for its unwavering commitment to fostering genuine peace and sustainable development in Bangsamoro. The panels also extended their heartfelt condolences to the families of the two soldiers who tragically lost their lives during an armed encounter in Sumisip, Basilan, on January 22nd, 2025
