Govt urges telcos to install generators in flood hotspots

The Communications and Digital Ministry asks telcos to strengthen telecommunication towers and relocate them to higher land so communication isn’t disrupted during floods. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, March 2, 2023.

Deputy Communications and Digital Minister Teo Nie Ching said this is to prevent communication services in flood-prone areas from disruptions. “We have also asked telecommunications companies to improve the hardening of their telecommunication towers and relocate them to higher areas so that services are not interrupted during floods,” she told Bernama after visiting flood victims at the SJKC Bukit Batu temporary relief centre in Kulai today.
