Govt to let market determine e-hailing floor fare
Transport Minister Anthony Loke says his ministry will not influence pricing for e-hailing services despite drivers' calls for a floor fare and standard rate. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, April 11, 2023.
Loke said his ministry is aware of calls from the E-hailing Drivers Association , which wants the government to intervene in the issue, including the standardisation of rates between cities. Loke said MOT understands drivers’ hopes on the matter since they cannot work at a loss and there are operational costs to consider.
